MATCH WEEK

Can we just take a sigh of relief together? BREATHE IN AND BREATH OUT. The whole residency process has to be the most stressful experience in existence! After completing interviews from late September to January, you wait. YES, wait till March to receive which residency program you will match into. Basically, from interview season to March, you are filled with doubt, joy, anxiety, anticipation, and confidence. Yes, I know. None of these listed words are synonyms. That’s exactly it! You are going through an emotional rollercoaster, not day by day but hour by hour. One hour, you are sure that you are in and the next you are doubtful.

Match Day is this Friday, when it will be revealed to me where I will start my residency program. Yes, you read correctly. On Monday, I found out I matched; now I nervously wait with anticipation to find out where I match. I'm excited and nervous to see if my first pick decided to choose me. So prayers up and fingers crossed!
