D.I.Y Scalp Refresher

You finished your awesome workout and now it’s time to get ready for the day. However, you have to be out the door quickly and washing your hair will have to wait until later. Leaving your hair with the accumulated sweat in it is not an option either.

This is because the sweat causes your hair to dry out, which can lead to breakage.

Here’s a D.I.Y to refresh your scalp after a workout!

You will need a few things:

  1. Carrier oil: Jojoba oil or Grapeseed oil

  2. Essential oil: Peppermint oil

  3. Spray bottle (photographed above is 2.4 fl oz)

Peppermint oil stimulates and promotes hair growth by increasing blood circulation and by increasing oxygenation. This oil is great for the hair follicles! Peppermint oil is also one of the bacteria fighting oils. It is great for itchy or dry scalp, and works in combating dandruff problems.

Grapeseed oil is one of the light carrier oils. It will not leave your hair feeling weighed down or greasy. It is also great in moisturizing the hair and keeps frizz out.

Jojoba oil is a great moisturizing oil for hair. Your sebaceous glands secrete sebum, which keeps your hair moisturized. Jojoba oil’s molecular structure is similar to the sebum naturally secreted. Along with peppermint oil, jojoba oil can stimulate hair growth especially with scalp massages. It is also great in combating an itchy and dry scalp. Additionally, it adds great shine and softness to the hair.

Instructions:

First thing, place about 2 oz of your carrier oil grapeseed oil or jojoba oil) into your spray bottle. Next, add 2-3 drops of peppermint oil into the spray bottle. Stir the oils until it is forms a uniform consistency. Once uniformed, it’s ready for use! You then spray your scalp and massage thoroughly.

I love love love this D.I.Y mix. I immediately feel the peppermint oil giving me a nice, tingly sensation. It keeps my hair nice and clean until I’m ready to wash my hair. I use this mix every other day and 2-3 times a week.

Try it and let me know your experience!

All the best!
